Jernbanestasjoner som mål for terror og sabotasje - utfordringer i sikkerhetsarbeidet
Abstract
The report presents aggregated results on possible security threats against major railway hubs and train stations. It
focuses on possible terrorism and sabotage threats, and presents relevant measures to prevent mass death or injuries
should such incidents happen.
The complexities involved in making train stations secure against terrorism or sabotage are huge, and it is possible to
implement security measures without balancing the needs for an open and easily accessible infrastructure.
Many important measures to combat these scenarios are administrative and organisational in nature. In particular, there
is a clear need to determine who’s really responsible for holistic security strategies at the station area. In addition,
measures which are to be implemented with increasing threat levels should be planned for as a part of the regular
security work. Several technological measures are also discussed.
