dc.description.abstract | The analytical approach for predicting penetration of rigid projectiles into concrete targets indicates that the scaled penetration depth is a function of only two non-dimensional parameters. This report analyses experiments performed to verify this relationship. In total 52 shots with 12 mm projectiles were fired against targets of standard concrete. Seven different projectiles with various masses and nose shapes were used. The experimental results seem to agree well with analytical theory. The experiments were also simulated using Autodyn-2D. | en_GB |
